Holy talent specs

Postby Lightbringr » Sun May 31, 2009 3:40 am

I have been considering going holy and looked up the healing specs of pallys in are guild. Now I know that I'm not the most knowledgeable about healing at all but I would like to point out several thing that ive noticed about all the pally healers in are guild. In that I'm finding mistakes, or what I think are mistakes. 1 is that all holy pallys have Judgements of the Pure which increases casting speed when a judgement is cast, however none have Enlightened Judgements which increases the range of judgements and increases the chance to hit. Sense I never see any holy pallys with in range for judgements with out the talent that would mean they're wasteing 5 talent points. Furthermore none of them seem to have Sancity of Battle, a ret talent which would offer 3% more crit and can be easly attained puting point you already should be ret for more crit and spell cost reductions. So my question is why do no pallys seem to have these talent which I would think are extremely important.

Not taking enlightened judgement is an error, probably the same for sanctity of battle but it depends on your spec... Healing as a holy paly has changed quite a lot since BC... the closest you'll get is a spec/set that boosts your SP/crit in which you spam FoL and Shock. A good paly healer will be able to find the time to refresh his seal on the boss... but most dont and I dont blame them because compared to BC, there's a LOT of raid damage so every GCD counts. Another popular option is the HL build which needs high int/crit. The idea behind that build is that you have such a high crit that most of your mana casting HL will be refunded and with the talents to haste it, it becomes a very quick and very big chunk of heal.

Mana is not an issue with holy right now though... here's a build I would use (didn't look at elitist jerks or anything)

In that build, I would spam HL, use shock when its up and FoL when its instant
